In a heartwarming gesture of community support and generosity, the Lagos Metropolitan Lions Club recently commissioned a fully equipped state-of-the-art library and a 5-bed sick bay at the African Church Central Primary School in Oniwaya, Agege, Lagos.Lagos Metropolitan Lions Club, well-known for its philanthropic endeavors, made the significant donation to enhance educational opportunities and promote healthcare access for the pupils and staff at the primary school. The library, equipped with modern and latest books, and learning resources, aims to create a conducive environment for learning and research, empowering the pupils to excel academically and broaden their horizons. The Lions Club also donated 100 school bags, 2000 exercise books, 2000 pencils, 2000 biros, 1000 erasers and 1000 rulers, as well as other writing materials to the three primary schools in the oniwaya community. This gesture will help alleviate the financial burden on families and ensure that all students have the necessary tools to enhance their educational experience.

Additionally, Recognizing the importance of healthcare for students, Lagos Metropolitan Lions Club also established a well-equipped sick bay for the pupils of African Church Central Primary School. This facility will ensure that minor medical issues can be addressed promptly, enhancing the overall well-being of the pupils. The donation of a fully equipped 5-bed sick bay reflects the Lions Club’s commitment to the well-being and health of the school community. The sick bay will provide essential medical care and support for students who may require assistance during school hours, ensuring that their health needs are met promptly and efficiently.

The projects were Commissioned by the District Governor Tolulope Senbanjo PMJF, NLCF on behalf of 2023-2024 Governor of District 404-B2 Nigeria.  The event was well attended by the members of the Lagos Metropolitan Lions Club, Ikeja Dynamic Lions Club, school officials, pupils, and representatives from the local and academic community. The event highlighted the spirit of collaboration and unity in working towards a common goal of improving educational standards and healthcare services for the children in the community.

The Lagos Metropolitan Lions Club’s act of kindness and generosity serves as a shining example of the positive impact that community involvement and support can have on the lives of individuals. Through their dedication to serving others, the Lions Club continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need, inspiring hope and fostering a sense of belonging within the community.

To combat the challenge of water scarcity and the risk of cholera, the club also renovated the borehole facility for the pupils of St Saviour Primary School, Oniwaya. This project will ensure that the school has access to clean, safe drinking water, promoting good hygiene and sanitation practices.

As the newly commissioned facilities begin to serve the school community, the Lagos Metropolitan Lions Club’s legacy of compassion and service will undoubtedly continue to shine brightly, leaving a lasting impact on the hearts and minds of all those touched by their generosity.
