Lagos Pacific Lions Club celebrated the end of the year by celebrating with LAWMA street sweepers and Ikeja Local Government waste and environmental sanitation department. The event was put together to celebrate the end of the year and to put a smile on the faces of the street sweepers for their hard work that is seen all over Lagos State.

Speaking at the event, the District Governor of District 404B2 Nigeria, Lion Tolulope Ayodeji Senbajo PMJF, NLCF harped on the importance of the occasion. “Christmas season is a wonderful season of joy; it’s a season where we celebrate everything around us, including our environment.

While speaking on the essence of the occasion, The President Lagos Pacific Lions Club Lion Dr Yemisi Anita Rasaq PMJF NLCF, challenged the LAWMA Sweepers to hold their heads high and see their work as a noble job, urging them not to allow the current situation in the country to dampen their spirit at this festive period. On his own, The Director Environment & Waste Ikeja Local Government Mr. ONISABI A.T. shared his experience about his humble beginning as a street sweeper before attaining the top hierarchy post Grade Level 17 in Lagos State Service.

The immediate Past President of Lagos Pacific Lions Club Lion Dr Olatunji Nasir, said this giving initiative was born out of the passion of the present Club President and the club at large to give back especially this season, is a period to reach out to the less privileged.  The highlight of the event was the donation of Medical equipment and medications on BP and Diabetes e.gRaincoats, Cone Signals, Lawma Uniforms, Local Sweeping brushes, Raw Food Stuff, Games and Price winning Cash Donations for over 120 Lawma Staffs.

Giving the closing remarks, the second Vice President of the club, Lion Arowosaye Shakira NLCF appreciate the DG for His attendance and the sweepers for their presence and show of appreciation on the gift.
