PDG Asiwaju Ayobola Samuel hails from Koro, EKiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, Nigeria.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the prestigious University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba Lagos and a Master of Arts degree in Rural Development planning and Administration from the University of East Anglia, Norwich, England.
In the professional sphere, he is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria ( FCIPM), Fellow, Institute of Management Consultants of Nigeria ( FIMC), Fellow, Institute of Human and Natural Resources of Nigeria ( FIHNR ) and Member, Nigeria Institute of Management ( MNIM )
PDG Ayobola Samuel joined the Civil Service of Kwara State as an Administrative Officer in 1983 and climbed through the ladder to get to the peak of his career. He was appointed PERMANENT SECRETARY in 2007 and posted to Ministry of Works and Transport. He served as PERMANENT SECRETARY in 7 other Ministries, including the Ministry of Sports and Youth Development where he retired voluntarily in October, 2018 after serving meritoriously for 35 years.
Lion Asiwaju Ayobola Samuel joined the Lions Clubs International as a Member of Ilorin Central Lions Club in June, 1993. He has served as Club President, Zone Chairman, Region Chairman, Chairman, District and MD Convention planning Committees and District Cabinet Treasurer.
In 2015, he was elected into the position of 2nd Vice District Governor during the MD Convention in Ibadan. He eventually served as District Governor of District 404 B2, Nigeria in 2017 / 2018 Lions year. On the completion of his year, he bagged the International President’s leadership award. At the MD Convention in Abuja in May, 2023, Lion Chief Ayobola Samuel was unanimously elected as the MULTIPLE COUNCIL CHAIRMAN for 2023/2024 Lions service year.
Lion Samuel has won several awards and recognitions in the Lions Clubs and in many communities for selfless and dedicated service. They include Lions International Award of Melvin Jones Fellowship and several District Governors’ awards. At the community level, he has been conferred with the chieftaincy titles of:
