PCC Stella Agbogun was born on March 13th in the early 1950s in Agbor in the Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State. She attended Mary-Mount College Boji-boji, Agbor, where she finished her O’Levels in 1969. A graduate of Nursing from Specialist Hospital Benin City and Midwifery from Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Kaduna. She became a Registered Nurse in 1974 and Registered Midwife in 1977. She went further to obtain Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health Administration and Management from University of Benin and M.Sc in Social Work from Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso.
PCC Agbogun is a Fellow of the West African College of Nursing. She’s also a member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria as well as the Nursing and Midwifery Council of England & Wales. She retired from the services of Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, Lagos, on 13th March 2011 after a meritorious nursing professional experience that spanned over 35 years.
Her lionism career started as a Lioness in 1985 in Port Harcourt, after which she transferred to Ikeja Lioness Club in 1986. She was amongst the first set of Lionesses to become a Lion. She joined Ikeja Golden Lions Club in 1991 where she was a President and won several laurels. She along with others, chartered Ikeja Pearl Lions Club in 2005. She rose to become the District Governor of District 404B in 2012-2013 Lions Year with various landmark achievements such as provision of disaster relief materials to Flood victims in Idah, Kogi State and Abala-Uno in Delta State. She will also be remembered for initiating and completing the Mercy Home located in Lagos University Hospital Idi-Araba built to cater for indigent Nigerians who come from afar for tertiary medical treatment with no accommodation in Lagos. PCC Agbogun went on to serve as Council Chairperson in 2015-2016.
A recipient of many awards including Best Zone Chairperson in 2001-2002. Also, Best Region Chairperson and Best District Chairperson when she was the Peace Poster Committee Chairperson. Her hobbies include traveling, playing golf and rendering humanitarian services. She’s happily married to Major General Nick Agbogun rtd and blessed with children and grandchildren.
She is a member of the District 404B2 elder’s forum and she provides counsel and advise to the leadership of the district.
