HIV and AIDS screening and awareness are critically important for several reasons. Screening helps detect HIV early, allowing individuals to begin antiretroviral therapy (ART) promptly. Early treatment improves health outcomes, prolongs life expectancy, and reduces the risk of HIV progressing to AIDS.
Knowing one’s HIV status helps individuals take precautions to prevent spreading the virus to others, such as using protection, avoiding sharing needles, or ensuring safer practices during childbirth.
The District organized recently series of education and screening recently to celebrate the World AIDS Day.
Here are beautiful images captured at the Lagos Axis version of the awareness and screening exercise.
