Lion Oluomo Sunday Akere MJF, NLCF
Lion Oluomo Sunday Akere is a native of Igbajo in Boluwaduro Local government of Osun State. Born over six decades ago, Lion Akere attended Baptist Day Primary School and Kiriji Memorial College both in Igbajo before proceeding to the University of Ibadan where he graduated with B.Sc (Hons) degree in 1987. He did his mandatory one year national service (NYSC) with Yerwa Consolidated Industries Ltd. Bauchi, Bauchi State.
His working career saw him through Ministry of Agric. & Natural Resources (MANR), Ibadan, Niger Valley Farms, Agenebode, Edo State, Fan Milk Nig. Ltd., Ibadan, Nigeria Bottling Company, Sango Otta, Ogun State, Yerwa Consolidated Ind. Ltd.,Bauchi and Maydej Nig. Ltd, Tede, Oyo State where he worked as the Production Manager before resigning to start his own business.
He holds a M.Sc. in Public Admin. and is currently studying for LLB Law at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
Lion Akere is the CEO/MD of Akin Akere Nig. Enterprises, Vista Sun International Investment Ltd, Kiriji Suites & Hotel Ltd all venturing into property, hospitality, farming and general contracts.
Lion Oluomo Sunday Akere is a devout Christian, humanitarian, passionate, dedicated, committed politician and lover of community development a flair that drove him into joining Lions International over ten years ago. As a member of Osun New Era Lions Club in District 404B2 Nigeria, Lion Akere has been a past President, past Zone Chairperson, past Region Chairperson, Chairperson of several District committees, two times District Convention Chairperson, Co -Chairperson of the District Leo program amongst others.
He was Honourable Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Osun State in 2011.
Lion Oluomo Sunday Akere has attended several International Conventions and African Forums part of which are Honolulu, Hawaii (USA), Chicago (USA), Las Vegas (USA), Milan, Italy and Boston, Massachusetts (USA), Lome, Togo, Lusaka, Zambia, Tunis, Tunisia and Accra, Ghana.
Lion Oluomo Sunday Akere is a Melvin Jones Fellow (MJF) and holds the traditional title of Akinrogun of Eesun-Ijesa and Oluomo of Igbajo land. He is happily married to Yeye Oyeyemi Akere and the marriage is blessed.
