Lion Kayode Oshinuga was born about six decades ago in Minna, Niger State. He is an insurance practitioner with about 36 years of practical experience in the insurance industry. He attended Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in 1988 and later became an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (AIIN) in 1994. He thereafter attended the Ondo State University, (now University of Ado Ekiti) where he obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in 1998.

Lion Oshinuga has had a chequered working experience in the insurance industry spanning almost 36 years; having worked in top insurance companies like Guinea Insurance Plc, Equity Indemnity Insurance Ltd (Now Sunu Insurance), Aiico Insurance Plc and Federated Loss Adjusters Limited. He was also the Group Head, (Technical) in Standard Alliance Insurance Plc and later the Group Head, (Claims and Reinsurance) at Intercontinental Wapic Insurance Plc (Now Coronation Insurance Plc), both of which are executive management positions in those companies. He is currently the CEO of Eminent International Loss Adjusters Limited, a company he founded in 2007.

Lion Oshinuga joined Ilupeju Lions Club in 1999 and became its President in the 2006/2007 Lions year. He was elected the District Governor of Lions International District 404 B2 Nigeria, serving in the 2021-2022 Lions Service Year.

He is also a member of Nasrul-Lahi-Il-Fathi Society (NASFAT), the frontline Islamic organisation of enlightened Muslims, dedicated to promoting sound Islamic knowledge and peaceful coexistence amongst the various religions of the world. He was the pioneer chairman of the Ogijo branch of the Society and currently a member of the National Council of Elders of the Society as well as the Chair of the Ogun Zone of Nasfat Agency for Zakat and Sadaqat (NAZAS).

In recognition of his philanthropic works through Lions International, Lion Oshinuga was conferred with the traditional title of Otunba Soludero of Erin-Ile by the paramount ruler of Erin-Ile, Late Oba Abdulganiyu Ajibola Ibrahim, MFR (Olusookun II) in February 2022.

He is married to Lion (Alhaja) Risikat Oshinuga, the Yeye Soludero of Erin-Ile and a member of the Ikeja New Era Lions Club. The marriage is blessed.
